Trauma Healing Institute Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Trauma Healing Institute’s website, apps, APIs, and widgets (“Beacon” or the “Service”). Please read these Terms carefully and contact us if you have any questions. By accessing or using Trauma Healing, you agree to be bound by these Terms and the ABS Privacy Policy.

 Privacy Statement

Trauma Healing Institute (THI)[1] helps you help others. To do that, we provide a forum in which you may connect with other Facilitators and Organizations as well as obtain materials relevant to your need to implement the THI ministry.  To provide our Service, we need to be able to identify you, your location, your certification level, and your ministry audiences (e.g., adults, children, teens). We do not share this information with anyone outside of the Beacon platform.

THI is committed to respecting your privacy and security. We provide this Privacy Statement to make you aware of our privacy policy and security practices, and to inform you about the way your information is collected and used. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available on our homepage and from the bottom of every THI web page.

Information Collected

In your relationship with THI, you can register for a training and be certified as a facilitator with THI. The types of personal information we collect include name, location, contact information, year of birth, gender, level of education and details regarding your ongoing activity within the THI ministry. This information about you is available to other Apprentice Facilitators and above within the platform.  You have the ability to change your public profile to private or confidential.

The private setting will hide your Personal Identifiable Information (Pii) such as location, phone number, year of birth, gender, denomination, and educational data for other facilitators. Your name, the country in which you reside, email, and certification level will be viewable to other facilitators. The confidential setting will hide all your Pii to all facilitators. There will be a select few Administrators with confidential access that could have access to your Pii. THI carefully limits the individuals who need to access this information. Please contact us for more information on how we secure your confidential data.

Who can use it

You may use Beacon only if you are 18 year old or older, and only in compliance with these Terms and all applicable laws. When you create your account in Beacon, you must provide us with accurate and complete information. Any use or access by anyone under the age of 18 is not allowed. If you’re based in the EEA, you may only use Beacon if you are over the age at which you can provide consent to data processing under the laws of the country in which you are accessing the THI website. Using Beacon may include downloading software to your computer, phone, tablet, or other device. You agree that we may automatically update that software, and these Terms will apply to any updates.

How we use it

THI uses Beacon to capture data about you and  your ministry activity  to track and report on global impact. Data captured about your ministry activity may be combined with information you provide when you register as a user. THI and representatives from affiliated organizations may use this information to:

●      connect individuals and organizations with one another to further ministry impact

●      to evaluate the ministry’s overall health l

●      and identify  growth opportunities

From time to time, THI and representatives from other affiliated organizations may use your information to contact you to provide ministry updates, new materials and resources, check on the status of your ministry, or to make you aware of ministry opportunities. At a minimum,THI will give you the opportunity to opt out or decline these contacts upon written request.

Who we share it with

It is THI’s policy to ensure that Pii is not used or disclosed except where necessary for the implementation of Trauma Healing ministry. We protect the confidentiality and security of Pii as otherwise permitted by law. THI does not rent, sell, or lease Pii to any third party. However, in those situations where we retain third parties to perform processing tasks or other activities, and where transfer of Pii occurs to those partners or to any of our international offices, we require that these groups agree to provide at least an equivalent level of protection as provided by THI. As a registered user of the THI platform, you agree not to disclose any Pii or other data accessible within the platform to anyone outside of THI.

Our website may contain links to other online resources. We provide the links for your convenience, but we do not review, control, or monitor the privacy practices of online resources operated by others. This Privacy Statement does not apply to any other online resources where a link to this Privacy Statement does not appear. We are not responsible for the performance of sites operated by a third party or for your business dealings with any third party. Therefore, whenever you leave the Beacon, we recommend that you review each site's privacy practices and make your own conclusions regarding the adequacy of their privacy practices.

Accuracy

THI empowers you to take steps to ensure that your Pii is reliable, accurate, and complete. The steps we take to ensure data integrity are made in light of the purposes for which the Pii is used. It is the policy of THI to ensure that all Pii is maintained only as long as necessary or as otherwise permitted by law.

Access

We will make every effort to provide you with online access to your Pii so that you may update or correct your information at the THI site. To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting you access or enabling you to make corrections. It is the policy of THI to ensure that all Pii is maintained only as long as necessary or as otherwise permitted by law.

Security

THI is committed to ensuring the security of your information. We have implemented reasonable electronic, physical and procedural safeguards designed to help protect against the loss, unauthorized access or disclosure, alteration or destruction of the information under our control. We use encryption systems, when collecting or transferring sensitive data. Certain features of our site may require you to use a password or similar unique identifier. You are responsible for protecting the secrecy of your account information. Although we strive to protect your personal information, no data transmission over the Internet is completely secure. There is some risk associated with any data transmission, including the risk that Pii may be intercepted in transit. If a breach of your Pii occurs, we will provide a notification within a timeframe and a manner permitted by your local jurisdiction.

Consent to Transfer

This Website is operated in the United States. If you are located in the European Union, Canada, or elsewhere outside of the United States, please be aware that any information you provide to us will be transferred to the United States. By using the Web Site or providing us with your information, you consent to this transfer.

Conditions of Use

THI provides the services described to you subject to the conditions contained within this document. If you register as a user in the THI platform, Beacon, you accept these conditions. Please read them carefully. In addition, when you use any current or future THI website, service or visit any entity referenced by THI in its website, you also will be subject to the guidelines and conditions applicable to any such entity.

All content included on this site, such as text, graphics, logos, photographs, button icons, images, audio clips, digital downloads, data compilations, and software, is owned or licensed by THI or its content suppliers and is protected by United States and international copyright laws. The compilation of all content on this site is the exclusive property of THI and protected by U.S. and international copyright laws.

THI grants you a limited, nonexclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to access and make personal use of this site and not to download or modify it, or any portion of it, except with the express written consent of the THI. What is a cookie?

How to enable and disable cookies?

Both essential and performance cookies are automatically enabled when you create a user account in Beacon. Essential cookies cannot be disabled because the platform cannot function without them. If a user chooses to opt out of the Strictly Necessary Cookies they will be unable to use use Beacon.

Performance cookies are option.  By enabling these cookies you help us make improvements to Beacon. To opt out of performance cookies, select off and click on Set Cookie Settings.

Can cookies be removed from my hard drive?

Yes, cookies can be removed from your hard drive. Also, depending on what type of web browser and what browser version you are using, you may be able to change the properties on your cookie file so that cookies are not used or saved. Please check with your browser provider for more information on removing cookies.

Right to Removal or Erasure

We will remove any Pii about you at your written request within 30 days. Beacon, is the sole and exclusive record for maintaining facilitator certifications for THI. Upon request of erasure we will remove all data pertaining to your THI certifications and we will no longer have the ability to support your ministry.  

Acceptance of these conditions

We assume that all visitors of Beacon, have carefully read this document and agree to its contents. If someone does not agree with these Terms, they should refrain from using the platform. We reserve the right to change our Terms as necessary. Continued use of Beacon, after having been informed of any such changes to these conditions implies acceptance of the revised Terms.
